Articles of Association for the Design and Technology Teacher Education Group (DTTEG)

1. Name
The name of the organization is the Design and Technology Teacher Education Group (DTTEG).
2. Objectives
The primary objectives of DTTEG are:
To promote excellence in D&T education.
To facilitate the exchange of ideas and best practices among D&T teacher educators.
To support research and development in D&T, curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment.
To advocate for the importance of the promite high quality professional learning for teachers of D&T.
To advocate for the importance of D&T in the curriculum.
3. Membership
Membership in DTTEG is open to:
Teacher educators and researchers in the field of design and technology for children and young people in compusory schooling.
Institutions and organisations committed to the advancement of design and technology teacher education.
Educators and professionals interested in the field.
4. Governance
DTTEG is governed by a committee elected by its members. The committee is responsible for:
Setting the strategic direction of the group.
Overseeing the implementation of activities and initiatives.
Managing the group’s finances and resources.
Ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
5. Meetings
Annual General Meeting (AGM): An AGM will be held once a year to review the activities and finances of the group, and to elect committee members.
Special Meetings: Special meetings may be called by the committee or upon the request of a specified number of members.
6. Committee
The committee consists of:
Chairperson: Provides leadership and oversees the activities of the group.
Secretary: Manages correspondence, records minutes of meetings, and maintains records.
Treasurer: Manages the finances of the group.
Additional members as deemed necessary by the group.
7. Finance
The financial year of DTTEG runs from 1st April to 31st March.
The Treasurer is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and presenting a financial report at the AGM.
All funds must be used in accordance with the objectives of DTTEG.
8. Amendments
These Articles of Association may be amended by a majority vote at the AGM or a special meeting called for this purpose. Members will be notified of any proposed changes in advance.
9. Dissolution
In the event of dissolution, any remaining assets will be distributed to an organization with similar objectives, as decided by the committee.
